I used to shy away from the word ritual. Instead I liked the word process or routine, but I’ve come to embrace “ritual” once I defined it for myself.

For me, a ritual is an act that has sacred intention weaved through it. My energy and thoughts about the act make it sacred, inject holiness into the act.

For example, a person can drink red wine or one can drink communion.
