The Nature of Consciousness

I remember the first time I felt energy tingling through my body—a sensation that felt like tiny champagne bubbles vibrating on the inside of my skin. It felt so delicious that I didn’t move a muscle hoping to hang on to the feeling as long as possible. It was my first experience of physically feeling an aspect of consciousness flowing through me.

Consciousness is the 21st-century label for an ancient is-ness that existed before time and form.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

It’s so easy to fall into the trap of wanting to make the perfect decision, but often this is a stalling tactic not to decide at all for fear of getting it wrong.

The split energy of indecisiveness feels uncomfortable because your energy is meant to flow.

The next time you must make a decision ask yourself, “What do I want?” And then permit that desire to be enough reason to go in that direction.

Establishing a Sacred Space

When I first started meditating, my meditation teacher suggested I set up an altar space in my home. He wanted me to lite a candle, burn some incense and meditate on a round cushion facing my altar. Oh, by the way, my altar needed to face East, host statues of saints or deities, and photos of loved ones.

All these rules freaked me out. I was brand new to meditation, and the idea of sitting in a quiet room by myself was weird enough without adding anything extra to the experience.

Striving to Practice Unconditional Love, but fall short sometimes? Try this practice in the meantime.

Have you ever encountered a knowing that rocked your world? It was something that when you read it, heard it, saw it—you knew in the core of your being it was true.

For me, when I encountered the knowing that God does not forgive. It rocked my world.

God doesn’t need to forgive because Source never perceives us as wrong. Source sees us as whole, perfect, and divine. Source is never judging us or withdrawing its appreciation of us.
