I like to think of mindfulness as choice. Each moment, each here-and-now is full of possibilities and potentials. When you become fully present in the now, you can sense the fullness of these possible creations.
Between you and me, mindfulness is a fancy name for focus, and focus is choosing what you give your attention to. Choosing is creating because when you give your attention to something, it grows in your awareness and experience.
One of the questions I get the most from my clients is—Am I on my spiritual path? So, right off, let me say, YES! You cannot get off your path. You cannot stray from your path. You cannot make a wrong turn or even stall out because your path is constantly creating itself as you make your next move. It moves and morphs and changes as you do.
I’ve got good news for you.
I remember the first time I felt energy tingling through my body—a sensation that felt like tiny champagne bubbles vibrating on the inside of my skin. It felt so delicious that I didn’t move a muscle hoping to hang on to the feeling as long as possible. It was my first experience of physically feeling an aspect of consciousness flowing through me.
Consciousness is the 21st-century label for an ancient is-ness that existed before time and form.
Creating is about bringing something to life. It’s coaxing an idea out of the ethers and flowing it onto the page, canvas, sheet of music. It uses the powerful energy of imagination and intuition to sense the possibilities orbiting around us and focus on one of those possibilities to bring it into form.
Creating can be the most thrilling experience or the most teeth-gnashing one too. But if you understand the phases of creation,
I woke up early this morning from a dream hot, sweaty, and tangled in my bedsheets.
I laid there in the dark getting my bearings and realized I’d been wrestling with the sheets in my sleep, and it dawned on me that too often, I wrestle with the bedsheets in my waking life too.
I wrestle with problems and decisions, worrisome thoughts and pesky annoyances, to-do-lists and responsibilities, and most of all…drum roll please—what do I want to do next.
Do you know how important you are to Spirit? You’re so valuable to Spirit that without you, Spirit would be incomplete. And, without the loving gaze of Spirit upon you at all times, you would cease to exist. Because of the intensity of this dynamic, your relationship with Spirit is the most important relationship in your life. It’s that simple.
Spirit is in this moment is loving you, and anytime you are not feeling your best,
Is all the spiritual talk about living in your truth, following your integrity, being authentic, and transparent confusing you? Does it feel like another thing that you have to get right when in reality, you’re just trying to get through the day without losing your shit?
I get it. This well-meaning advice can make your head spin. Even worse, it can make you give up on your spiritual journey because it feels too hard to figure out the “right way.”
It’s time to give yourself a break because Spirit is not demanding some lofty standard from you or judging how you’re doing.
Be grateful before something happens. Knowing that it will happen because you’ve asked.
Faith is believing before you see it. Appreciating the outcome before it happens because you know the Universe answered your request.
from the Little Book of Big Knowing
It’s so easy to fall into the trap of wanting to make the perfect decision, but often this is a stalling tactic not to decide at all for fear of getting it wrong.
The split energy of indecisiveness feels uncomfortable because your energy is meant to flow.
The next time you must make a decision ask yourself, “What do I want?” And then permit that desire to be enough reason to go in that direction.
